Dear Friends and Parents,

The children in second through seventh grades will be taking the Terra Nova Standardized Tests between March 3-7th. Please be aware that your child may be a bit concerned. Here are some suggestions to help your child through this unusual week.

· Your child should get a minimum of eight hours of sleep a night.

· Studies show that students test markedly better after having had a nutritious breakfast.

· Please make the effort to have your child at school each day during testing.

· Be sure that your child arrives at school no later than 8:10 each morning.

· Of course these tests are important, but your child will be less anxious if he is confident that his parents and teachers are positive and supportive.

Students in grades 2-7 will not have any homework between March 3-7.

You will receive the results of the testing in the spring.

Family Mass has been a long tradition of Mount Carmel Academy and Our Lady Of Mount Carmel, beginning over a decade ago when some MCA parents and parishioners recognized how good it is for us to come together for prayer and community. Once a month during the school year, each class takes a turn hosting the 9:30a.m. Sunday Mass at the church and reception following in the MCA cafeteria. Please help the families listed below by offering to donate breakfast treats or your time. See you at Mass.
