Dear Friends and Parents,
Last week, each current MCA family should
have received the 2008-09 Returning Family

students and their siblings receive priority
until February 6th. I encourage you to
return
your form on time. Our enrollment continues
to grow and we have a significant number of
new applications to process. Prospective
families will be offered available openings
after February 6th.
Sincerely,
Shane Staszcuk, Principal

| Family Mass |
 |
|
Family Mass has been a long tradition of
Mount Carmel Academy and Our Lady Of Mount
Carmel, beginning over a decade ago when some
MCA parents and parishioners recognized how
good it is for us to come together for prayer
and community. Once a month during the
school year, each class takes a turn hosting
the 9:30a.m. Sunday Mass at the church and
reception following in the MCA cafeteria.
Please help the families listed below by
offering to donate breakfast treats or your
time. See you at Mass.

What's Happening in Tech
Computer Graphic Art has been submitted and
don't miss the "slideshow" of entries at the
Cultural Fair. Thanks to all who
participated and final judging will take
place on Tuesday.
5th grade will start their PowerPoints on the
solar system.
Pk- K are busy working on their alphabet
letters and locating them on a keyboard.
GarageBand elective starts this week. It
will be an exciting time of creating music
using prerecorded loops and instruments or
voice.
Come on up and see 1st grade creations in
Kidspiration- can you find the patterns? 3rd
grade also created their "5 Kingdoms"
organizers in Kidspiration.
Lastly, Chicago's "own" South Loop has some
furry visitors, long-eared owls. They seem
to be traveling south from Canada in search
of more abundant food. Check them out at
