| Message from the Principal |
 |
|
Dear Friends and Parents,
I would like to extend a big MCA "Thank You" to
Book Fair Coordinators Naila Pathak and
Flo
Albarracin. With help from numerous parent and
student volunteers, Casey Hall was transformed into
a true Book Fair Blizzard. Students and parents alike
loved the decor and our book fair was a huge
success!
On behalf of all our teachers, I want to thank those
parents that purchased items from our staff book fair
"wish list". The generosity of our families is sincerely
appreciated.
The 2007-08 MCA Family Directories were
distributed last week at parent-teacher conferences. If
you did not receive a directory, please stop by the
school office to pick up your copy. As with any project
this large, mistakes can occur. As you go though the
directory, please notify the school office of any
incorrect information.
Sincerely,
Shane Staszcuk, Principal

MCA's Rachel Miklaszewski (MCA'06) appears in
Northside College Preparatory High School's
production of Six Characters In Search of an
Author by Luigi Pirandello. Under the
direction of Mr. Randy Snow, Rachel and the
cast deliver a delightful tale of six
characters living between acting and reality!
An excerpt from classic notes describes the
play in more detail.
sixcharacters/shortsumm.html)
A group of actors are preparing to rehearse
for a Pirandello play. While starting the
rehearsal, they are interrupted by the
arrival of six characters. The leader of the
characters, the father, informs the manager
that they are looking for an author. He
explains that the author who created them did
not finish their story, and that they
therefore are unrealized characters who have
not been fully brought to life. The manager
tries to throw them out of the theater, but
becomes more intrigued when they start to
describe their story.
Tickets are available at the box office the
day of the show.
Show times and dates are:
Thursday 11/15 @ 6:00pm
Friday 11/16 @ 7:00pm
Saturday 11/17 @ 3pm
Tickets are $3.00 for Students and $5.00 for
Adults

Harlequins' Fall Musical Promises to
Deliver Laughs
This weekend, St.
Ingatius College
Prep's Harlequin's Club debuts it's fall
musical, Moby Dick, The Musical! Two of
MCA's alums, Becca Brown (MCA '06) and Morgan
McFarland (MCA '07) will don McLaughlin
Theatre's stage for this humorous play.
Tickets are still available for $9.00 at the
box office. For more information about the
play, please contact St. Ignatius' Fr. Ross
Pribyl, S.J., at 312.432-8354 or by e-mail
ross.pribyl@ignatiu
s.org
Below is an excerpt from St. Ignatius's
website:
The play is billed as follows, "The girls of
St. Godley's School for young ladies are in
trouble! Money for the school has been
depleted, and it will certainly have to
close. Leave it to these resourceful girls
and their unflappable headmistress to devise
a plan to keep the school afloat. Using
whatever they can find at hand, the girls
mount an original production: a musical
version of the novel, Moby Dick, featuring
their headmistress in the coveted role of
Captain Ahab! As Melville rolls in his grave,
our spirited girls run roughshod over the
classic as they parody fifties doo-wop songs,
Broadway melodies, gospel music, sea
shanties, Gilbert & Sullivan patter songs,
and modern boy-band ballads. What "The Rocky
Horror Show" does to late night horror
movies, "Moby Dick", The Musical! does to
Herman Melville!"
The show will run for two consecutive
weekends in the McLaughlin Theatre. The
November 16 and 17 shows will be
performed at 7:00 p.m. The Sunday, November
18 show will be a 2:00 p.m. matinee. Tickets
are $9.00.
If you have alumni information that you would
like share with MCA, please send to bernabe

| Family Mass |

Family Mass has been a long tradition of
Mount Carmel Academy and Our Lady Of Mount

school year, each class takes a turn hosting
the 9:30a.m. Sunday Mass at the church and
reception following in the MCA cafeteria.
Please help the families listed below by
offering to donate breakfast treats or your
time. See you at Mass.
